David Brewster’s painting “Panoramic Manger” won Best In Show at the 59th annual exhibition Art of the Northeast. Begun in 1949 as the New England Exhibition, Silvermine Guild Art Center’s annual juried competition has exhibited over 6,000 works of art by emerging and established artists throughout the nine northeast states.

The 2008 distinguished juror was Thom Collins, Director of the Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase, New York. Collins reported to Brewster that he responded strongly to “Panoramic Manger” because it portrayed a strong balance between conceptual components and authentic painterly innovation.
